Enjoyed the great 60's music at the 10th reunion. Great crowd and a big night of fun. The dance floor seems to be getting smaller, or maybe the crowd was just larger. I noticed that an 11th reunion was not mentioned or possibly I just missed it. Looking forward to the next time with Tyn Tymes. 72.155.136.124 |

I spent many years at the shrimp fest w/my dad Bob Holt who was a vendor selling puppets on the corner across from the west stage. So every year you guys played there we had some of the best seats in the house. He really loved listening to you guys, and asked about you every year that you were not there. Unfortunately this past one was his last. He was still asking about y'all. He passed in March. I just wanted to let you know that he was a fan from Danville, OH. 98.65.239.250 |

I was at the Sensational 60's in Gadsden,AL. last Saturday night. I was at the Emma Sansom Band reunion several years ago. Yes, grew up in Gadsden and went to Sansom as did my sister Shannon, and my brother, Bill. Point being ya'll were absolutely fantastic, as always! (I think I danced to almost every song) I will definately try to get back to Gadsden in August to hear you again. Thank you for helping make the reunion(s) wonderful! 72.242.82.10 |

There is no reason for any of you to remember me, but in the late 1960s I was a Pike at Mississippi State. We had you guys at the Pike House on several occasions and on one occasion even traveled to Tuscaloosa to a party at the SEA House with a lady friend of one of you (I don't remember which of you) to be with you. Still remember the outstanding sound ya'll put out and on more than one occasion "playing" the tamborine on stage. I also remember when Rick told me that you were breaking up in 1970. I actually saw a write up in the Mississippi Magazine over the weekend of a wedding you played for last year in Mississippi and couldn't believe it could be the same Ten Tymes I remember from my days at State, so I had to google to see if it was the same group. What a great surprise to know you are back together and playing the same sounds. We have reunions from time to time at the Pike House at State, and I will make sure that we contact you when we plan our next one. If you are ever in south Florida I'll make sure to catch up with you. Good to know the best sound for college parties from 1966-1970 is still out there. 209.60.179.66 |

Sylvia and I were at the show in Marietta last week and just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the show. As usual, you guys put on a fantastic show. Huge crowd, great weather and the Tyn Tymes! It doesn't get any better than that. Looking forward to the opening of Dana's theater in December. 76.18.106.153 |

We just wanted take a minute or two and let Carl, Ken, Rick and the rest of the band know what a success Cathy's surprise birthday party was. The venue, WorkPlay, as suggested by Carl, was perfect. The three sets that you all selected were also perfect.
If anyone wants to question how good the Tyn Tymes were the following says it all: "It was so much fun even the band members wive's were on the dance floor with the birthday girl." That's an actual quote from Janice Sharpe, Carl's wife. We do not think she minds us using her name and quote.
Again guys (and girls) that's for an evning that we will be remembering for years to come. All the best, Bill and Cathy 72.147.105.185 |

Hey Guys -
Our band -- The Soul Purpose Band out of ATL area -- is doing a wedding gig this SAT at Mountain Brook Club in B'ham. We were there in '06 doing a wedding, but I needed directions again, and ran across your name and site when I Googled M.Brook. Would love to catch your show some time -- see you're at Marietta in Sept. Maybe we can stop by then if we're not booked. I don't remember off hand. You must have got that gig through RCS. We do a few gigs a year for Ron and Stephen, and they've been good to us. I think Ron's playing again with John Seagrove and other original members of Pieces of Eight.
See our website at www.thesoulpurposeband.com. VERY similar to your band --- except maybe we include a lady vocalist to be able to do Martha Reeves, Aretha, Tina T, Gladys Knight etc, but our history together doesn't go back near as far as yours. I grew up in Middle GA and played with a horn band in mid-60s, but SP has people who were born in Havanna, Cuba, Detroit, MI (lead guitar player who spent 7-1/2 years playing guitar for The Temptations), Indiana, Huntsville, AL, Cleveland, OH, West Palm,FL etc. I put the band together in '94 after a reunion of my HS group. But, my old '60s band mates didnt live near enough to each other to rebuild that group.
One reason I wanted to drop a line here is to tell you about a website you should look at. You may want to submit some history there about Tyn Tymes. The site was established by guys who were/are with The Bushmen. See www.southerngaragebands.com. The site features some classic, well known bands that were very popular in GA/SC/AL and the SE during the 60s, including at least one AL group --- The K-Otics from Troy State/Montgomery. Other featured groups include the horn/soul band I played in before I left my hometown for GA Tech --- Alfonzo and The FABULOUS Bootleggers (looks like our band and yours both admired Booker T and The MG's, but I always kinda' wished we had named our band The HIPHUGGERS instead! I suppose I should just be glad we didn't go with The Green Onions.) Same site also features bands such as The Candymen, who backed Roy Orbison and later became Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Allman Joys from Jax, FL who later became the Allman Brothers after they moved to Macon, GA, and even Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. It's a real fun site, and your band would fit there well.
Travel safe, rock on, and continue to help us keep the classic soul, beach, motown stuff (as well as some Chicago, V.Morrison, Ides of March, Delbert Mc, etc) alive, well and in demand. Hope to meet you guys somewhere further on down the road.
PEACE -

I just wanted to say that I remember when you begain. My precious cousin Chip Davidson was there in the beginning. I was at as many concerts as I could attend. I was always so proud to say my cousin played in the band. I truely believe he may be alive today If he could have been a part of your reuinion. In his last days he lived a very sad life. I spent many hours with him right before he died. We were always very close. One of the things we talked about right before he died was his relationship with God. He assured me that he was Heaven bound.
I really wish you would write a song in Chips memnory. This would be a great honor to him. I remember when you were together we would sometimis sit and sing together the songs you were going to be performing. He really loved being a part of the band. I know things happened that caused you to have to quit, and I was so glad when you begain again. Each time I hear that you are gonna be back in Gadsden I remember Chip playing and singing "Johnny Be Good." I know that was his special solo song.
Just please always remember him, and think about writing that song.
Thanks so much and may God Bless You All,
